F. No. Stds/CPL&CP/Draft Notification/FSSAI-2017.— The following draft of certain regulations, further to amend the Food Safety and Standards (Food Products Standards and Food Additives) Regulations, 2011, which the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India proposes to make with previous approval of the Central Government, in exercise of the powers conferred by clause (e) of sub-section (2) of section 92 read with sections 16 of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 (34 of 2006) is hereby published as required by the said sub-section (1) of section 92 of the said Act for the information of all persons likely to be affected thereby and notice is hereby given that the said draft regulations shall be taken into consideration after the expiry of the period of thirty days from the date on which copies of the Official
Gazette in which this notification is published are made available to the public.
FSSAI has notified the draft Food Safety and Standards (Food Products
Standards and Food Additives) Amendment Regulations, 2017.
The amendment regulations prescribe revised standards of Honey and
comprehensive standards for all pulses. The revised standards for Honey and Pulses are
intended to address issues concerning quality and purity of these products.
The amendment regulation also prescribes new standards for whole and
decorticated Pearl Millet grains, Degermed Maize flour and Maize Grit, Couscous,
Tempe, Textured Soy Protein, Sago flour, Bee Wax & Royal Jelly.
FSSAI has proposed this draft Regulation inviting comments from stakeholder
within 30 days from the date of availability to public.
